Biologics

Biologics play a significant role in our practice. We harness the power of Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) in both solid and liquid forms to expedite healing and reduce pain during extractions. Additionally, PRF is used as an adjunct to deep cleanings, effectively decreasing pocket depths and promoting optimal gum health. Furthermore, PRF is incorporated into our facial esthetics procedures, providing natural-looking results.

In addition to PRF, we offer the innovative vVARDIS Biomimetic system for Guided Enamel Remineralization of early caries. This biomimetic, brush-on system is designed to target “watch areas” where early signs of tooth decay are detected. With its easy and fast application, non-staining formula, and minimally invasive approach, vVARDIS is suitable for all surfaces and patients. Best of all, it requires just one-time application, making it a convenient and effective solution.

Preventive Care

Patient education: We are invested in educating patients on proper oral hygiene practices, such as brushing and flossing techniques, to help prevent dental problems.

Fluoride treatments and sealants: Fluoride treatments help strengthen teeth and prevent decay, while sealants are protective coatings applied to the chewing surfaces of teeth to prevent cavities.

Nightguards and sports guards: These are custom-made devices that are worn over the teeth to protect them from damage during activities such as teeth grinding or sports.

Periodontal therapy: This includes both prophylaxis (regular cleanings) and deep cleanings (scaling and root planning.) to help prevent and treat gum disease.

Cosmetic Dentistry

Veneers: These are thin, custom-made shells that are placed over the front of teeth to improve their appearance. They can be used to cover stains, chips, or gaps, and can also change the shape or size of teeth.

Whitening trays: These are custom-made trays that fit over the teeth and are filled with a bleaching solution. The trays are worn for a certain amount of time each day for a period of several weeks to gradually whiten teeth.

Bleaching solutions: These solutions contain a bleaching agent, usually hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide, that helps remove stains and discoloration from teeth. They can be applied in-office or at home using custom-made trays or strips.

Restorative Dentistry

Composites (white fillings): These are tooth-colored fillings used to repair teeth that have been damaged by decay or trauma. They are made of a composite resin material that is bonded to the tooth for a natural-looking restoration.

Porcelain crowns: These are tooth-shaped caps that are placed over a damaged tooth to restore its shape, size, strength, and appearance. They are made of porcelain or ceramic material that closely matches the color and texture of natural teeth.

Porcelain bridges: These are fixed prosthetic devices that consist of crown abutments that fit over natural teeth that have been prepared and pontics that replace missing teeth. The Bridge is then fixed in place with a special dental cement.

Full dentures and partials: These are removable prosthetic devices used to replace missing teeth. Full dentures replace all the teeth in the upper or lower jaw, while partials replace one or more missing teeth and are supported by the remaining natural teeth.

General Dentistry

Consultations: These are appointments where you can discuss your dental concerns with a dentist and receive recommendations for treatment.

Examinations: These are routine check-ups where a dentist examines your teeth and gums for signs of decay, gum disease, and other dental problems.

Extractions: This involves the removal of a tooth that is damaged beyond repair or causing problems for the rest of the mouth.

Root canal therapy: This is a treatment used to save a tooth that has become infected or damaged. It involves removing the infected or damaged pulp from the tooth and filling it with a special material.

Implant Dentistry

Implant placement: This involves surgically placing a small titanium post into the jawbone to serve as a replacement for a missing tooth root.

Implant restoration: This involves attaching a custom-made crown, bridge, or denture to the implant post to replace any missing teeth.

We are a S.M.A.R.T. Mercury Amalgam Free Practice!

Dr. Paola Rodriguez’s dental practice is a S.M.A.R.T. practice, which means she takes extra precautions to minimize any potential risks associated with removing dental amalgam containing mercury. There is a growing concern about the health effects of mercury exposure, and some studies suggest that dental amalgam may contribute to mercury exposure in the body.

While the available evidence does not show that exposure to mercury from dental amalgam will lead to adverse health effects in the general population, certain high-risk groups may be more susceptible to potential adverse effects generally associated with mercury. As a result, the FDA has issued updated recommendations on dental amalgam and potential risks to certain high-risk individuals that may be associated with mercury-containing fillings used to restore the missing.

Dr. Rodriguez is a S.M.A.R.T. certified provider from the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology. Her approach to dentistry using alternative materials to dental amalgam, such as tooth-colored fillings made of composite resin, has several benefits including reducing the risk of mercury exposure and providing a more aesthetic result. Dr. Rodriguez’s special training allows her to safely remove and limit the exposure to amalgams during removal.

In summary, Dr. Paola Rodriguez considers the potential dangers of mercury exposure and offers alternative materials to dental amalgam. This approach provides benefits not only in minimizing the risk of mercury exposure but also in providing a more aesthetic result.
